National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2009: Students name Saatchi & Saatchi as their favourite graduate recruiter in advertising
03 JUN 2009
London - Saatchi & Saatchi has been voted the most popular graduate recruiter in the Marketing and Advertising sector at the National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2009.
Voted for by those who really matter when it comes to graduate employment – the nation’s students themselves - a shortlist for this award was determined by a national on-line poll with the support of university careers services. Over a four-month period almost 90,000 student votes were collected from UK universities across 20 sectors.
Saatchi & Saatchi, London was named as the outright winner for their industry at an awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House, hosted by British comedian, Alan Carr.
“At Saatchi & Saatchi we know that our future success lies in attracting the very best fresh and emerging talent out there, and we remain wholeheartedly committed to leading the way in doing just that,” says Michael Rebelo, Managing Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, London.
“Gaining this kind of recognition is a fantastic achievement and is testament to all the hard work people in all departments at the agency put into our graduate recruitment,” he adds.
Saatchi & Saatchi has been investing in graduate recruitment schemes since the 1980s and for the last 10 years has been running a six week Summer Scholarship programme. The agency receives hundreds of applicants, from which 10 are chosen each year to come and work as a trainee account executive, with the aim of being one of the lucky ones who are hired at the end of the six weeks.
“The Summer Scholarship is an integral part of Saatchi & Saatchi culture and we have always been so impressed with the calibre of the graduates who get involved. They are positive, incredibly hard working and have always proven to be an inspiring addition to the teams they join,” says Michael Rebelo.
